“It’s an annual tournament organised by Kevin McMahon here in the club and it’s been run for a number of years,” said Chairperson of John Mitchels Club, Bríd McElligott.

“Twelve clubs from throughout the county participate at Under 8 and Under 10 level so we have 24 teams playing today. It’s a busy day for us – we didn’t have one last year because we were in the process of relocating – but it’s our first blitz here,” Bríd said.

It was a great day for the Ballymac sides with their Under 10 side victorious against Ardfert while their Under 8 team reached the final, only to succumb to the might of Milltown/Castlemaine.

A fantastic day for all teams and long may it continue.
