BLENNERVILLE NS their ‘Jersey Day’ on Tuesday in anticipation of the big matches on Sunday in Croker.
Schoolchildren from junior infants up to sixth class rolled out the green and gold for the day adding a splash of All-Ireland colour to the place.
“There’s a load of excitement in the school. There will be plenty pupils heading up so there could be a few tired heads on Monday with Sam hopefully back in Tralee,” said Blennerville National School Principal, Terry O’Sullivan.
Former students of the school include Micheál Quirke, who won four All-Ireland medals with Kerry and David O’Callaghan who, was up until a couple of years ago, was a member of the Kerry panel.
It’s an exciting time also in Blennerville, as the building of the new school is in the final phase of completion. Plumbing and electrical work is being undertaken at the moment. It is hoped that December 1 will be the day when they move into the new building.
