THERE’S two members of the Born To Run Club that can testify to being some of the most travelled members of the group without ever having laced up a pair of running shoes.

The BTR club flags are the members in question and since their arrival into the tight knit group of runners, they’ve been from Las Vegas to Paris, Belfast to Berlin and a whole other load of places in between.

They’re quite different in terms of appearance with the older of the two sporting the tri-colour look while the younger and newer member keeps it simple with the BTR native colour of dark blue.

Ashley Keane O’Shea is the owner of the more frequently used tri-colour flag and she confirmed the suspicions of this writer in a conversation last night when she said that there is a huge sense of pride in the BTR family and the flags are a symbol of pride for club members.

Just last weekend, the two travelled to Berlin with local club members Conor Cusack and Den McCarthy where they saw the sights of the Olympic Stadium before heading off to support the two runners as they completed the Berlin Marathon.

The club symbols have been all over in the last number of months with trips to Las Vegas, Paris and nearly every county in Ireland already checked off the list with flights already booked for trips to Amsterdam and Istanbul in the near future.

It’s now become somewhat of a club tradition to pose with the flags either before or after the race and with a large number of runs still to come before the end of the year, the two most seasoned members of the club have a bit to go before they can retire and rest up for the winter.

They wouldn’t have it any other way.

Check out the photos of the flags in action below…
