IRELAND’S biggest coffee morning took place today and many businesses and homes around Tralee and Kerry took part.

Many brought their baked goodies into workplaces while some hosted large get-togethers in their homes for the fundraiser, which benefits the Kerry Hospice Foundation and helps raise vital funds for the palliative care unit at UHK.

This national event  is celebrating 27 years of coffee mornings and it is hoped that this year’s events will raise a much needed €2 million for Hospices across Ireland, to meet growing demands for the service.

Those who didn’t attend a coffee morning can simply text COFFEE to 50300 and donate €4 to support local hospice and homecare services and help to give patients the best quality of life during their illness.

The fundraisers aren’t limited to today though, so look out for more coffee mornings around town over the coming weeks. Scroll down for photos…
