THE kids from Caherleaheen had something to celebrate recently as they won the overall Best School award in the Tralee Area Primary Schools Sports day.
Held at the Tralee Harriers grounds on the Dan Spring Road recently, schools from all around the town competed in track and field events.
Pupils from Caherleaheen were placed highly in numerous events, especially the relay, and came out on top.

“Every relay team got a medal,” said Principal of Caherleaheen NS, Mary Connolly. “We had two golds, two silvers and two bronze as well as a number of individual medals. We won by 14 points and the pupils did a lap of honour at the end, they were delighted.”
It seems the pupils have caught the athletics bug now so they can look forward to more success in the years to come. Scroll down for photos…
