A LUXURY castle in Kerry has sold for €4.5 million.
‘An Culu’ is a 9,000 square foot property on 4.5 acres of land on the edge of Kenmare Bay, just under 10km from Kenmare town.
It was renovated by UK businessman, Kevin Reardan, in the late 1990s and according to real estate agents Savills it’s “one of Ireland’s best-kept secrets” and the sale was one of largest for a residential property this year.
The identity of the new owner is not known, but they plan to spend a large part of the year at the property.

The property comes with a moat, drawbridge, castellated entrance, stained glass windows and a cut stone staircase serving all five floors.
It has a top-floor living room with a domed frescoed ceiling and a terrace with amazing views over Kenmare Bay and the Caha mountains.
