CBS Primary launched its Lego Club this week and the interest was phenomenal, with over 100 students signed up to take part between here and Easter.

The school decided to start the Lego Club to give students an opportunity to explore their creativity, enhance communication and boost students’ motor development.

Students attending the club will get a chance to work in small social groups, following instructions, planning, organising and evaluating.

Lego Club Co-ordinator Michelle Culloty said: “We are delighted to have the Lego Club up and running. We have noticed that a huge number of our students share a common interest in all things Lego, and they now have the opportunity to meet on a weekly basis. The club will equip them with the necessary STEM knowledge and skills to be innovative and imaginative thinkers, while also providing an opportunity for interactive play and social skills development.”

The lego club will give children a chance to explore all areas of construction and engineering, with plans to expand in to the area of Lego Robotics and Animation in the very near future. Scroll down for photos…
