St Pats Castleisland 3-8
A strong team performance was required by The Green to get the better of St Pats Castleisland in this Dunloe Cup (U16 ½) Round 1 match which was played in splendid sunshine in Caherslee on Tuesday.
The Green, who were backboned by last year’s winning Russell Cup team, led by 0-9 to 1-2 at half time.

Gearoid Fitzgerald got the home side off to the perfect start in the second half with a well taken goal.

This was followed half way through the half by another major from Aaron Roche. St Pats never gave up and threw everything at the Green in the closing stages reducing the margin to three points with five minutes remaining.
The Green defence stood firm and with Michael Kelliher coming deep to win and carry vital possession they managed to hold out thanks in no small part to a vital late goal by Eamon Rohan.
