TEAMS from Dunnes Stores and Aldi did battle on the astroturf up in the North Campus of IT Tralee on Easter Sunday, for the second annual Turner’s Bar Invitational Cup.

It’s the second year of the competition – held in aid of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland – and despite a lower number of teams taking part, it was still  an enjoyable morning and afternoon. Four teams from Dunnes and one from Aldi took part with three ladies teams also joining in the fun.

It was NCR Dunnes who won the ladies competition, while the men’s competition went to a penalty shoot out. Dunnes Horan Centre and Dunnes NCR ‘Golden Oldies’ played out a 0-0 draw, but the Horan Centre won 5-4 on penalties.

There was a collection for the charity during the games from spectators, while the players met later for an afterparty in Turner’s Bar on Castle Street. Scroll down for photos…
