NOISE levels reached eardrum-worrying levels at Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn on Friday as the school held a club colours day in anticipation of a weekend of finals involving Tralee clubs.
While Na Gaeil looked like they just about shaded it in numbers, they were matched in volume by a sizeable Rockie contingent and the Narries made themselves heard too as teacher and former Kerins O’Rahillys player, Declan Quill, explained.
“We have great representation of the club here, the numbers of Strand Road kids have been building up over the years and they’re all togged out. It’s great to see the three clubs represented. Na Gaeil have a big game tomorrow and then of course the Stacks against Kerins O’Rahillys on Sunday. We’re really looking forward to it.”

Na Gaeil’s substitute goalie tomorrow, Sean Duggan, also teaches at the school and said it was great to see the support.
“There’s great excitement here. With three Tralee clubs involved in finals, there’s serious rivalry. Hopefully we’ll see a cup coming back to the Na Gaeil supporters next week,” said Sean.
Meanwhile, teacher Doireann Morgan, whose brother Jack is a former pupil and current panel member with the Stacks team, has really enjoyed the last week.
“It’s mad rivalry, they’re all against each other, but in a good-natured way and it’s great craic. Most of the Stacks fans here will be going to the games so there will be a great atmosphere,” she said. Scroll down for photos…
