A TRALEE woman who organised a coffee morning today to mark World Prematurity Day was delighted with the event which, coupled with her online campaign, raised hundreds of euros for a charity.
Organised by Jennifer Kissane, she wanted to raise awareness of the Irish Premature Babies Charity after the birth of her and husband Greg’s premature baby boy Fionn in June, who arrived six weeks early at 5lb 2.
Jennifer herself was born 12 weeks early at a tiny 2lb; both born in University Hospital Kerry and in the care of Emly Special Care Unit.
Even up to before the coffee morning – which was held in House at The Abbey Inn – Jennifer had raised over €500 through her online campaign.
