AFTER a fantastic win in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day, Dr Crokes took home the All Ireland Club title and have been touring the cup since.

Well the Andy Merrigan Cup visited CBS primary School on Tuesday, a school more used to the similar black and amber colours of Austin Stacks.

The pupils welcomed Crokes men, principal of CBS Denis Coleman and teacher, Daithi Casey who starred with the Killarney side on Friday, and were excited to see the pair on stage to answer a few of their questions.

Denis Coleman, Chairman of Dr Crokes and Principal of CBS Primary School, said; “There’s a huge tradition of football in the school here, and a lot of the kids are tied in with different clubs within Tralee, so it’s great that we can bring it over here, and get the kids to share in it.”

He continued; “It’s very important that they’re out there playing football, making friends, and having fun. That’s what it’s all about.”

Daithí Casey, teacher of a very proud first class, added; “They’re delighted. I was just down to them there, and they were thrilled.”

While we’re sure the pupils would have preferred if their own club sides were visiting with the holy grail of club football, it was still an exciting day for CBS Primary which is proud of its connection to the champs. Scroll down for photos…
