THE participants in a major fundraiser for Down Syndrome Ireland rolled into town on Friday afternoon with a legendary cyclist leading the way.
The Tour de Munster Charity Cycle is taking place until Sunday and over 100 amateur cyclists, led by Sean Kelly, came through Tarbert and Listowel to make their way to the Down Syndrome Shop on High Street at around 6pm, where they were greeted by well wishers.
A spinathon also took place at the DSK shop from 1pm on Friday with entertainment and light refreshments creating a great family atmosphere there for the afternoon.

After staying overnight in town, the cyclists left this morning to make their way to Deenagh Lodge in Killarney at 4pm before travelling on to the Lansdowne Arms Hotel in Kenmare at approx 5:45pm.
The 2015 cycle raised €260,000 for the charity, bringing the total raised for the Munster Branches of DSI to €1.6 million.
Funds raised have made a tremendous difference to the lives of people with Down Syndrome in Munster, as well as their friends and families by providing vital services and facilities in each county. Scroll down for photos…
