IT’S been such as bizarre time for the Class of 2021, but the fruits of their labour were finally realised on Friday when the Leaving Cert results were revealed.

Like last year, students received their results directly on the Candidate Self Service Portal so they didn’t have to go to the school to collect them, but that took something away from the excitement of the day and the chance to meet up with friends.

Students received a single set of results showing the best grades they received from the examinations and the Accredited Grade process on a subject-by-subject basis. The results of both examinations and Accredited Grades have equal standing.

Principals across the town said they were delighted with how the students got on and deserved the rewards for their hard work.

The Minister for Education Norma Foley TD was also around yesterday morning and visited a number of schools across Tralee to congratulate students on receiving their results.

Minister Foley met with staff and students at Presentation Tralee, Coláiste Gleann Li, CBS The Green, Gaelcolaiste Chiarrai and St. Ita’s and St. Joseph’s Secondary School.

Minister Foley said: “I was delighted to meet with students who are receiving their Leaving Certificate results in Kerry today. This is the culmination of all the effort that these students have put in over the past couple of years, which has been challenged further through this pandemic. You can all be enormously proud of your results today.” Scroll down for photos…
