IT’S been some week of fun at The Castle Bar with racing, a few pints and the chance to win thousands in the rollover providing a great atmosphere in the Rock Street establishment.
The place was packed as usual on Thursday with some ladies joining in the craic and being in with a chance of winning prizes to boot.
The annual Best Dressed Lady competition had a hamper of beauty products from Sam McCauley’s worth €220 up for grabs and after much deliberation by judge Lorna O’Sullivan of The Castle Bar, Kim Kerins was announced as the winner.

In second place was Jennifer Mackey followed by Gillian Riordan in third and Mandy Hudson in fourth place. All the ladies received runner-up prizes.
The lads weren’t left out either and Sam McCauley’s again came up trumps with a men’s hamper of aftershave/skin care products to the value of €150.
Jimmy O’Sullivan was the dapper gent deemed worthy of the first prize with Neilus O’Shea as runner-up.
Friday is Gold Cup day and traditionally the biggest day in The Castle Bar and with Ireland and Kerry in action on Saturday, the party atmosphere is unlikely to let up on Rock Street. Scroll down for photos…
