THE town’s first non-alcohol club event for adults took place in town last night.

The Virtue Club’s inaugural night of food, fun and enteratainment was held at Cocktail Heist @ Croí Restaurant with all free tickets snapped up well in advance.

The night featured local musician Michal Wagner, magician Steve Mills and comedian Gillzie Fitz, with delicious food platters, mocktails and alcohol-free beers and ciders.

In fact, everyone was given a free bottle of Cronin’s 0.0 alcohol free cider on arrival, kindly sponsored by John Cronin himself who attended on the night.

“Everyone has been so supportive and encouraging over the past week,” said organiser Lisa Curran.

“A few people have come on their own tonight as they are new in town and want to meet new friends who don’t drink. We’re open to expanding it to other venues, so if any businesses are interested in having us in for a takeover, we’re open to it,” said Lisa.

Lisa also wanted to thank Ger O’Sullivan for all his help as well as Noel Keane of Croí Restaurant, John Cronin of Cronin’s Cider and all sponsors who came on board.
