THERE was a bit of misty rain, but that didn’t deter around 500 people from setting off from Tralee Bay Wetlands on Saturday morning for the Operations Transformation Walk.
The walk, coinciding with the official RTÉ start time of 11am, was organised by Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership followed the old tow path of the Tralee Ship Canal, a stunning walk just outside Tralee town, seeped in nature and scenery.
There were families and people of all ages taking part and they were joined by Minister Brendan Griffin and Jimmy Deenihan, Chairman of the Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership.
Supported by Tralee Bay Wetlands, the nature reserve was opened free of charge for the day, while Ballyseedy Café offered a fantastic healthy lunch for the very reasonable price of €5.
It was a great way to persuade people to start a healthy lifestyle for 2019. Scroll down for photos…
Impressive turnout. Well done!
