THE sun shone down on participants in the Bill Kirby Memorial Walk on St Stephen’s Day, as hundreds showed up on a dry, mild morning.
It was a far cry from the pelting rain of the year before which put many off, but the atmosphere was far more bouyant this time around.
The event is held every year in aid of the Palliative Care Unit at University Hospital Kerry and there was a poignant moment when a minute’s silence was held to remember Ted Moynihan of the Kerry Hospice who passed away in March.
Organised as ever by Michael ‘Fox’ O’Connor the good folks at Kirby’s Brogue Inn, as always, supplied the refreshments for the walkers when they returned after getting some exercise. Scroll down for photos…
