OVER 300 people enjoyed a foodie charity event at The Tankard in Fenit on Tuesday night.
‘The Taste For Africa’ was organised by chef Frank Moynihan – the resident chef on the Gay Byrne Show on Radio 1 for many years – who invited people to come along and enjoy some spectacular seafood dishes, desserts and other fine fare all for a good cause.
All that was asked of people was to give what they could on the night for three chosen charities with representatives in Africa.
All proceeds from the night went to Mary’s Dinners Malawi; Operation Smile (Irish-based charity for children with cleft lip and palate) and for students from Glenstal Abbey School who are going to Kenya to build a wall and toilets at a school.
Serving up the dishes were 15 food producers both from local businesses and further afield and those attended really enjoyed the food on offer. Scroll down for photos…
