SCHOOLS all over town were tucking into treats today as Shrove Tuesday arrived.
The children were gobbling up their pancakes when TraleeToday called to Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn ahead of the fasting period of Lent. Making pancakes for the day has become a tradition at the school.
Every year, the teachers prepare the pancake mix and bring it in for Muinteoir Bríd and the Parent’s Association to cook for the children.
The school provided a variety of toppings, much to the delight of students. Chocolate sauce, syrup. sugar, and fruit were some of the toppings on offer.
“They love it!” laughed Cait Uí Chonchúir, the principal of Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn, as the children and adults had great fun on the day. Scroll down for photos…
