SPA Fenit Community Council celebrated Heritage weekend in style on Saturday and Sunday last.

The glorious sunshine contributed greatly to the occasion and a varied programme of events provided enjoyable family entertainment.

On Saturday evening a vintage car run including 50 stunning cars from years past got the celebrations off to a start.

On Sunday over 30 tractors set off on the Vintage Tractors and Hondas 50s run. There was exceptional interest in the makes and models on display.

The farrier Rick Fontes, kept visitors,to the old forge entertained and interested in the art of forging.

There was great interest from all ages and Rick was delighted to see a revitalisation of old blacksmithing in the young generation.

Local craftsman Jerome Quirke presented the forge with a Bushel, which was used to measure corn. Bushels were used to measure corn by the dockers at Fenit pier.

The dog show was a great attraction again this year, with so many impeccably groomed pets on parade by their proud owners.

Displays of old hand tools, knot making, sugan chair making, thatching, knitting, crocheting, butter making and painting  provided an insight into crafts and skills from times past.

Traditional music, song, dance and some excellent storytelling and recitations by local musicians kept the crowds entertained in the newly opened Museum.

The committee wished to thank everyone who helped to make the weekend an outstanding success. Scroll down for photos…
