THE Easter Bunny was in full hopping mode on Easter Sunday at Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa in Tralee where they hosted their annual Garden Easter Egg Hunt.
This event in its 7th year running has grown to huge popularity, with money raised via ticket sales accepted to Barnardos Children’s Charity.
Almost 200 boys and girls met with Little Red Riding Hood and the Easter Bunny before heading off on their garden hunt to find the Easter Eggs that the Bunny had lost. They were also treated to music and dancing, face painting and a fun and entertaining Puppet Show whilst not forgetting a chocolate Easter Egg each.
This fundraising event has kindly been supported again this year by Cadburys Ireland, who generously supplied all of the Easter Eggs.
“It’s great to be involved in such a fun and different event here at Ballygarry House,” said Padraig McGillicuddy, proprietor. “Many of the staff donate their own time to make the day a success, and going from the last few years it certainly is. This year we even had enquiries before Christmas to register for it!”
Throughout the years, the management and staff of Ballygarry House have raised over €10,000 for a selection of local charities through fundraising alone.
In addition to the hotel’s own Easter Egg Hunt, this year Gina Groves representing the Hotel made a donation of 150 chocolate Easter Eggs to Down Syndrome Kerry at their Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Monday and they also donated eggs to the Children’s Ward at University Hospital Kerry.
