Well-known photographer John Cleary’s book, ‘Through The Lens’, is a treasure trove of memories for the people of Tralee and Kerry.

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve brought you images from the book – which covers events from the 1970s – where you might see some familiar faces. Here’s some more…

December 1973 finds Tralee boys outside Baily’s corner Tralee, where the pressure of water blew the manhole cover skyhigh during the flood, result of the heavy rain can be seen on the photograph due to the rain drops on the lens. LtoR. John McMahon, Jimmy Stack, Dan Healy, and Billy Brosnan.
