THERE was a great turnout at Tralee Bay Wetlands on Saturday for the #Walking4Families event in aid of the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
About 200 people got into the spirit of the occasion for the fancy dress themed 5km family fun walk. There was a great atmosphere as families gathered in the, thankfully, dry conditions after the torrential rain of the day before.
The walk itself took in the surrounding area of Blennerville and Ballyard before finishing up again at the Wetlands.
The campaign is raising money to help build a new 50 bedroom ‘Ronald McDonald House’ that will go alongside the new National Children’s Hospital.
“We’re delighted with all the support from people on the day. We got loads of donations and we’d like to thank everyone for showing up for such a great cause,” said one of the organisers, Noelle Jameson.
