THE medical community was well represented in the Town Park this lunchtime for an event to promote physical activity.

The ‘Lunchtime Mile’ event was the brainchild of physiotherapist, Corinne Evans who is based in High Street.

She asked other health professionals to lead by example in taking part in a run/walk in the park and nearly 50 people joined her and co-organiser Laura Sheehy.

Speaking after the event, Corinne said; “We are delighted to have received such wonderful support from our healthcare colleagues from St Brendans Park Medical Centre, Fairies Cross Medical Centre- Dr John Chute and Dr Tommy O’Regan, Coopermedicare, Brandon Medical Centre, Burns Pharmacy and groups from Tralee Chamber Alliance and Tralee Credit Unions along with many other participants. We hope that we have led by example. The longest journey begins with the first step.”

It’s hoped to hold another similar event in the future. Scroll down for photos…
