THE 6th Donal Walsh Live Life Film Festival Awards for Primary Schools took place in the Brandon Conference Centre, Tralee on Wednesday.
The overall aim of the festival is to promote positivity and living life. With over 300 primary school attendees, the place was electric with wonderful performances from Limerick bank Outlion; KCFE Music and Dance Students; local musicians and many other performers.

This year saw an unprecedented number of entries for all categories according to Mary. Initially when the project was stated the majority of the entrants were from the Kerry region; now entries from every county in the country are being received.
This is reflected in the fact that the three top selected films were from Dublin, Galway and Cork this year.
The entire event is fully sponsored by Tralee organisations and business which without their support it could not have continued.
The main sponsors are the Bon Secours Hospital, the Brandon Hotel; Ray Stack Event Specialist; Digital Buzz and Kerry College of Further Education. The business and media organisations in Tralee also supported and promoted the project.
The Secondary School and Adult Awards Ceremony have yet to be held and this year these finalists will be screened in the Omniplex, Tralee in April.
This is a new departure for the film festival and it will be very exciting for the entrants to see their work on the big screen Mary believes. Watch out for details for entering next year’s competition on the Donal Walsh Live Life website!
