In its fifth year, the annual Celebration of Light event has taken place on beaches all over Kerry such as Fenit, Ballybunion, Banna, Causeway, Portmagee and Dingle and this year it was decided to hold it in Tralee in association with the Rose of Tralee Festival.
“It’s about celebrating the light and the life of those who have passed through their cancer journey. It’s also about supporting the light and life iof those who are going through their cancer journey,” said Eileen Comerford from Recovery Haven.
The Kerry Choral Union created a tranquil atmosphere with their wonderful singing, before people released lanterns into water at around 8pm.
There was further music before the conclusion of another poignant ceremony for this year which no doubt raised much needed funds for the cancer support facility. Scroll down for photos…
