THEY’RE all mad you know!
Once again, the beautiful mountains of the west Kerry peninsula provided the backdrop for hundreds of swimmers dashing into the water for the annual Christmas swim in Fenit.
It was dry and mild with a slight breeze, so conditions were as good as could be expected for the participants who were in great spirits as they lined up at 12 noon for the three dashes into the water.
There was hardly any time for the tradition of singing ‘Jingle Bells’, as a few dippers ‘went rogue’ making the dash before the official start and around 700 others followed!
They made two more trots into the sea with participants of all ages taking part and they were cheered on by hundreds of family members and friends watching on.
The event was in aid of Fenit RNLI who organised the event with Tralee Bay Swimming Club and it set everyone up for the turkey and ham later! Scroll down for photos…
