THE gym at Mercy Mounthawk was packed to capacity last night to see students from Mercy Mounthawk take to the catwalk for their annual fashion show .
This year the secondary school’s Transition Years had a theme of ‘All Things Irish’, so the audience was greeted with the sights of rainclouds, Roses, sports outfits of all codes and much more.
With it being the centenary of the 1916 rising, Ded Valera and Collins made an appearance with other Rising-inspired outfits while rock was represented by Phil Lynott.

A percentage of the money made will be going to Tír Na Nóg, Tralee Responders and Kerry Assistant Dogs, charities close to the hearts of the students and with a €10 charge at the door, they can look forward to a healthy donation.
The Transition Year students wished to thank everyone who attended our fashion show.
“The night was a huge success with a wonderful turnout,” reads a statement from them. “A big thank you to all shops from Tralee, Castleisland, Listowel and Scartaglen for allowing us to model their clothing. Our fashion show wouldn’t have been a success if it wasn’t for Ms Veronica Hunt and Ms Eileen Flanagan, we are so grateful for all the work and hours they voluntarily put into to helping us organise the fashion show.
“Lastly but not least, our chairpersons Adam Butler and Niamh McMahon along with all of the fashion show committees, deserve huge recognition for all their co-operation and countless hours they put in, in the run up to the show and during, the fashion show wouldn’t have ran so smoothly and looked so remarkable if it wasn’t for all these people. It was wholeheartedly a night we will never forget!” Scroll down for photos…
