THE Rose of Tralee Festival this year saw the inaugural one day women’s business conference that celebrated and recognised the achievements of modern women in the business sector.

The ‘Bloom for Ireland’ conference was held in the Brandon Hotel on Monday and it has been heralded as a massive success by all those who attended, with women from all different sectors taking to the stage to speak about various aspects of business.

Minister for the Diaspora, Jimmy Deenihan, was also present on the day as he listened to Cora Creed, a Listowel native talk about her experiences of emigrating and how she rose up to become an integral part of the business and technology world she found herself in.

“It’s been an absolutely great day. It’s a wonderful addition to the festival and hopefully it will be back again next year,” said Siobhan Barrett from AIB, who had a stall at the event.
