IT Tralee students enjoyed a night at the races in The Greyhound Bar on Tuesday night, all for a great cause.
It was organised by students from the Travel and Adventure Tourism Management course at the college as Marguerite O’Brien from Ballylongford explained.
“As part of our events management module we had to organise and run an event, so we decided to run a charity race night in aid of Focus Ireland. Coming up to Christmas especially it’s a worthy cause and the issue of homelessness has been in the news a lot lately. We took a vote in the class and decided on Focus Ireland,” she said.
The event was ‘ladies day’ themed, so they had a best dressed man and lady competition.
Kerry team manager, Eamonn Fitzmaurice, also donated a signed Kerry jersey to the cause and turned up at the start of the night to offer words of encouragement.
It looked like a lot of craic for a great cause. Well done to all.
