Mike O’Halloran was in Austin Stack Park to see a comprehensive win for Kerry that sets them up with a final appearance against Westmeath…
Kerry 3-17
London 2-10
Kerry hurlers qualified for the final of Division 2A of the Allianz Hurling League with a well-earned win over London in Austin Stack Park on Sunday.
Kerry were in charge of this game for the most part from start to finish.
Kerry led 1-8 to 1-6 at halftime and added two more goals from the flying Causeway man Colm Harty – Harty had already netted on five minutes of the opening period.
Kerry needed results to go their way in the other games in order to progress to the final and both Westmeath and Wicklow obliged with wins over Carlow and Derry.
A pointed free at the end of the Carlow-Westmeath game handed Kerry the final spot.
The game with London was a rehearsal for the Christy Ring Cup competition to come, Kerry will be delighted to get another competitive game under their belt before they compete in the that competition.
Westmeath gave Kerry a bit of a dusting when they visited Tralee a few weeks ago, so Kerry will be seeking revenge for that defeat.
