HAIR Salons from across Kerry gathered at Kerry ETB Training Centre’s all-new Hairdressing Salon in Monvalley on Monday for an opening evening to showcase their futuristic looking new facility and to meet the current crop of young hairdressers.
Visitors spent two hours mingling with staff, trainees and other business owners and were treated to a selection of gourmet treats courtesy of the apprentice chefs on the new Commis Chef Apprenticeship programme which has also just started in centre.
Also in attendance was Cllr. Jim Finucane who is also President of Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) and Kerry ETB Director of Further Education and Training, Owen O’Donnell.

Instructor Niamh O’Halloran was delighted with the evening. “This really showcases the best of what Kerry ETB Training Centre does – professional level industry training in world class facilities – I’d like to thank everyone who came along and made our open evening such a success,” she said.
Niamh and her hairdressing team will be at the upcoming Kerry ETB Further Education and Training Fair which is taking place at the Brandon Hotel this Thursday from 11-6pm.
The event is targeted at school leavers, parents, mature students, jobseekers and people who want to up up-skill as well as employers looking for staff training and trained staff. There are a range of interactive displays planned from a Pop-Up Restaurant, Hair and Beauty Salon, Dog Grooming Parlour, Wind Turbine Simulator, Stonecutting & Landscaping Installation, Film, TV and Radio studios.
