Clare 0-3

THE Kerry minors negotiated a safe passage through to the Munster semi-final when they easily dispatched of Clare in Austin Stack Park last night.

In truth, this match lacked any real championship fervour for the over 1,000 spectators who paid in.

After a slow start, a flurry of scores midway through the half helped Kerry to a 0-10  to 0-1 lead going in at the break. This was the required distance needed to see out the game without Clare ever looking like they could mount a comeback.

Starring for Kerry were, Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne players, corner forward, Conor Geaney who kicked four points from play and midfielder Mark O’Connor.

Kerry will now face Cork in the semi-final on May 13. On the evidence of last night, Kerry minor manager, Jack O’Connor will have plenty to work on ahead of the Rebels who will be massive step up in comparison to Clare, who struggled badly to get scores on the board.

Despite the overwhelming amount of possession and chances, Kerry were very wasteful with their shooting and only tagged on a four more points  after the break.

Two of those points came from goalkeeper, Billy Courtney, who made the long march up to convert two frees from the sod. At the end, his Clare counterpoint, Killian Roche, also got in on the act to put a tad bit more respectability on the scoreboard.

Check out action photos below…
