The Sam Maguire and Markham Cups, accompanied by Kieran Donaghy and Marc Ó Sé arrived at CBS Primary school on Friday to a hero’s welcome.
The School Hall was packed to capacity, and decked out in a sea of green and gold.
Vice Principal, Pat Costello, welcomed the Kerry stars and spoke about the football history of the school. To date, CBS Primary has the most All-Ireland medal winning past pupils of any primary school in the country and they are very proud of their football tradition. The duo received a gentle grilling from some pupils, who had prepared questions for them.
Devon Burns from the Na Gaeil club asked Marc; “If you could pick three people to share dinner with tonight, who would they be?”
“Dara, Tomás and Páidí,” answered Marc.

Darragh Mc Evoy from John Mitchels asked the question; “If there was a transfer market in GAA, which player would you secure for next season for Kerry?”
Both Marc and Kieran were unanimous in their decision – Tommy Walsh.
Ciarán Commane of Kerins O Rahillys asked Kieran which sportsperson he would most like to meet. He looked down at the t-shirt he was sporting and said Michael Jordan was his sporting idol and he would love to meet him.
Marc and Kieran both thanked the crowds, and told the students that they hoped one of them would one day lift the Sam Maguire as they watched on from the stand in Croke Park.
It was a fantastic afternoon for the students who left the hall dreaming of a future in the Kerry jersey!
