THE Kerry Rose selection night is just two weeks away, but there is still time to enter for a chance to represent the county as the festival prepares to celebrate 60 years in August.
On Saturday night, the contestants gathered for a fun night out at Kingdom Greyhound Stadium and they were joined by current Kerry Rose, Celine O’Shea.
“To stand on stage in the Festival Dome as the Kerry Rose is a really special moment, and life-changing in so many ways”, says Honor Hurley, 1995 Kerry Rose and co-ordinator of the Kerry Rose Centre.

“But the Rose Experience starts well in advance of August. We’ve kicked off the 2019 Kerry Rose Experience this weekend which is why we’re reaching out now to remind any woman who has this on her bucket list; to get in touch with us and be part of the 60th year of the Rose of Tralee,” continued Honor.
The Kerry Rose Selection event is quite the prelude to the International Rose Selection, with Dáithí Ó Sé overseeing the festivities. “I’m looking forward to another great night on June 8th for the Kerry Rose Selection – its going to be a fantastic night once again. For anyone still contemplating it, there’s plenty of time to enter so go for it; and I look forward to meeting you on the day.”
Over the coming weeks Kerry Rose applicants will enjoy a Rose Tour showcasing the sights and hospitality on offer here in The Kingdom. The 2019 Kerry Rose will be selected on June 8th in Ballyroe Heights Hotel.
