OVER 180 guests attended the Business Leaders’ Gala Dinner on Thursday evening at the Rose Hotel in Tralee to recognise the achievements of Kerry-based business leaders.

Presented by Kerry Innovation Centre and sponsored by Kerry County Council and EY Ireland, this annual event is the pinnacle award celebration for ambitious businesses from across the county.

Attendees on the evening included the county’s leading enterprises, entrepreneurs, and professional services, as well as representatives from Kerry County Council, Enterprise Ireland, Munster Technological University, Kerry Local Enterprise Office, Údarás na Gaeltachta, North, East & West Kerry Development; South Kerry Partnership Development, IRD Duhallow, and Tralee Chamber Alliance.

Three awards were presented on the night, recognising the entrepreneurial spirit and achievements of Kerry-based business leaders:

• Sean Ryan, CEO Aspen Grove – Business Leader of the Year 2023
• Aoife Ní Mhuirí, CEO Salaso – Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year 2023
• Patricia Quane – retired VP & General Manager of Astellas Ireland and Chair of the South-West Regional Steering Committee – Lifetime Contribution Award 2023

Following a sumptuous five course meal, guests enjoyed an engaging and informative after dinner speech from former Irish Rugby International Mick Galwey.

Commenting on the selection of the award recipients, Brid McElligott, Chair of Kerry Innovation Centre said; “Kerry Innovation Centre is a not-for-profit organisation with a remit to support and advance enterprise activities across Kerry.”

“It is our privilege to be able to organise an event which honours the business community in Kerry, and we are delighted to present these awards in recognition of the entrepreneurial drive, determination and ability demonstrated by all the worthy winners. They have all demonstrated vision, foresight, and outstanding leadership, which serve as a beacon of example for current and future business leaders and entrepreneurs.”
