THE people at Kingdom Care held an information and coffee morning at their Tralee base on the Mart Grounds in Caherslee on Friday.

The event was to raise awareness of the services they offer to people in need and to showcase the clothes and goods on sale at the shop.

“It’s a gathering of staff members and volunteers and it’s gone down very well,” said Elizabeth Roche of Kingdom Care, who said donations have decreased over the past few months.

“It has got very quiet due to the refugee crisis and their need for donations and I think people are wearing their clothes for longer now. We’re asking people – as it’s coming up to Christmas – if they’re clearing out their attics to think of donating to us. We’re always looking for warm clothing, blankets and shoes – especially men’sĀ and boys’ clothes.”

Donations can be made to the shop from Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 11am to 4pm.
