THERE was a great turnout of family and friends of Laura Shanahan at a walk in her memory on Sunday afternoon.
Laura from Gallowsfield was just 17 years old when she passed away in August from a rare bone cancer called Ewings sarcoma.
Her family wanted to do something for Ronald McDonald House as Laura had been a patient up in the Crumlin Children’s Hospital for about three years and had stayed there.

On Sunday, they gathered at the Brandon car-park wearing Ronald McDonald House t-shirts and collected donations from participants. Around 200 people, including Laura’s friends from Mercy Mounthawk. then headed off on the 5k walk. It was an emotional day for a great cause and the family thanked all those who donated.
