IT’S been an exciting week for young boys and girls all over town as they took their first steps on the education ladder earlier this week.
While Presentation, CBS, Holy Family and Moyderwell will open in the next couple of days, others have been welcoming the new arrivals including Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn and Listellick.
Two classes of 21 pupils started in Listellick on Thursday and it all went smootly according to one of the teachers, Ms Ruane.
“The children have settled in really well this morning. They were a little bit excited and nervous at first but they’re happy now,” she said
Over in Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn there were 28 boys and girls starting their schooldays on Friday morning.
“This morning went really well. One or two were a little teary but once the moms and dads were gone it all calmed down,” said muinteoir, Olive Ní Ghearain.
