THE Stationhouse Restaurant opened its doors this afternoon after months of work.

Nick Wang of Tomásín’s Bar and Restaurant in Stradbally and his business partner Jane Liu, were on hand to welcome customers to the restaurant in time for the lunchtime trade on Wednesday.

Around 15 people will be employed at the business which has been worked on for some time. The result is very impressive with a beautiful big dining room and cosy little alcoves in the bar/lounge area.

“It’s a big place so it took ages to get ready,” said Nick. “The local community has been very welcoming. We had a mini-opening last night so many people from the village were here, including people from the bars across the road.”

The bars should be happy, as many people frequenting The Station House when it was open a few years ago, called into Skelper Quane’s and Dwyer’s for their aperitifs and digestifs.

“I can see people calling in to the pubs before their meals here and then going back after, so it will work well for them too,” said Nick.

The restaurant plans to open for breakfast too, as well as lunch and dinner so it’s sure to be a hit in Blennerville and Tralee. Scroll down for photos…
