Louise, 23 from Killarney is currently working at Kerry University Hospital as a catering attendant.

In addition to that she is currently studying a part time course as an emergency technician. Louise is also part of the Gleneagle concert band and has been for 12 years. She plays the piano and saxophone.

She also has interests in rowing, running and volunteer work. She will be running the VHI women’s mini marathon for epilepsy Ireland and many other charity events in the coming months.

Louise is a maths and Spanish teacher from Killarney.

The 26 year old is currently working in a boys school in Waterford. Louise has a keen interest in travelling and experiencing new cultures. In 2014, Louise travelled to Zambia for five weeks to work with an Irish aid organization.

There, she taught maths, English and life skills to orphaned children. Last year, she spent time traveling around Thailand.

Louise holds an MA in linguistics however, she is an animal fanatic, who would have a house filled with rescued animals if given half the chance!

Máire works as a physiotherapist at the University Hospital Limerick.

The 25-year-old from Waterville has been a keen runner and cyclist since her early teens. She recently completed the Great Limerick Run half-marathon and her goal is to complete the Dublin marathon this October.

She is currently training for the Ring of Kerry cycle. This will mark her third time completing this event. In addition to running and cycling, Máire enjoys playing the piano, hill-walking, pilates, reading and travelling.

Máire’s ambition and goal is to improve health and wellbeing amongst staff and the general Irish public. She is currently involved in leading University Hospital Limerick’s Health and Wellbeing programme.

Máire, 27, is from Asdee but has been living in Dublin for the past 4 years.

A graduate of UL and of Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, An Cheathrú Rua, she has been working with Vodafone Ireland since October 2012. Máire plays Ladies football and camogie for Na Gaeil Óga, the only GAA club in Dublin to operate solely through the Irish language.

When she is not playing or training, Máire likes to catch up with family and friends, listen to music or go to the beach. She is also involved with Rith, a national Irish language event held every 2 years as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge.

Máiréad works as a pharmacist at the Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee.

The Kenmare native is 26 years old and is the second of four children. She is the daughter of Jerry O’Mahony from Lauragh and Peggy Somers who is originally from Currow.

In 2011 Máiréad completed a Masters degree in Pharmacy from the University of Sunderland in the UK for which she achieved First Class Honours and was awarded the Bill Darling Prize for her results.

She is a huge gaelic football fan and a proud supporter of her club Templenoe GAA. In addition to football, her other interests include running, cycling and reading.

Maria is a physiotherapist at University Hospital Kerry.

The 24 year old from Keel, Castlemaine previously spent two years working in Singapore. Maria learned Chinese and Malay in an effort to improve her communication with elderly patients.

Playing with the Singapore Gaelic Lions, she won two consecutive Asian Gaelic Games medals. Her desire to travel and experience different cultures developed while volunteering in Nicaragua, constructing a school.

Upon graduating from UCD, she helped improve the mobility of people with physical disabilities at a homeless shelter in Delhi, India. Maria likes to keep fit by playing football, going to the gym, set dancing and catching lambs at home on the farm!

Marita McSweeney, a 24 year old twin from Scartaglen.

Currently working as a care giver for Home Instead Senior Care in County Galway. She studied Applied Social Care in the Institute Of Technology in Tralee and hopes to finish her studies shortly.

Family plays a big part in Maritas life, and with some of her siblings being as far away as Australia it’s convenient that she loves to travel and explore for herself.

Aside from her love of travelling Marita is training at the moment to take part in the Cork City Marathon next month. She also enjoys Art, Comedy and Yoga.

A native of Cahersiveen, Maureen has called Killarney home for the past two years.

Upon completion of her Masters in public relations from CIT she joined the Marketing Department of the well-known Gleneagle Hotel working in festivals and live music events.

An avid rower for many years and swimming instructor with Kerry Water Safety she has maintained her enjoyment of the outdoors by partaking in marathons, triathlons, cycling and charity runs and loves to travel, read and socialise with family and friends.

Meagan works as a customer service representative at Fexco in Killorglin.

The 26 year old from Ardfert in North Kerry has a degree in recreation and leisure management from Cork Institute of Technology. Meagan enjoys outdoor activities and being an active member of the community.

She has set up running groups to participate in the couch to 5K, ran fitness classes in the local community centre, opened personal training consultations and has supervised local underage kids in numerous sporting events.

Meagan believes in positive energy and physical exercise for a well balanced lifestyle.

Michelle who is 25 years old, and from Fossa is a secondary school teacher.

She graduated from UCC in 2013 with a first class honours and went on to complete her teacher education. She is currently a Maths and Geography teacher in Davis College, Mallow.

In her spare time Michelle enjoys walking, running, playing football and solving Maths puzzles. She also enjoys adventure sports having already completed a skydive in aid of Cystic Fibrosis.

Michelle’s ambition and goal is to be a positive role model to young women and to promote a positive body image amongst young people.

Nicola has just completed her final year of college in UCC where she studied Commerce with a major in Food Business and a minor in Financial Maths.

The 22-year-old from Beaufort has recently been offer a place in AIBs Finance Graduate Programme and will be moving to Dublin in September to take up the role.

Having given up football at the age of 12, she decided to take the jersey out of retirement this year and return to the Beaufort Senior Ladies team. Nicola’s ambition is to visit every country in the world.

Sinéad is an Irish and Spanish teacher in Dublin.

The 26 year old, born in Kentucky, hails from the parish of Kilcummin in Killarney. She has a keen interest in cooking, baking and photography and is an avid football fan. She has a love of travel having spent last summer Island hopping in Greece.

She has been involved with many fundraisers especially those for Cancer which is a cause close to her heart. She has a Grá for the Irish language and its promotion and spends her summer’s teaching in the Gaeltacht.

She has a great enthusiasm for life and trying new things and hopes she can tick being a Rose off her bucket list!

Sinéad is a primary school teacher and also has a BA in Gaeilge and Theology and Religious Studies.

She teaches 5th class in St. Corban’s Boys National School in Naas, Co. Kildare. The 25-year-old from Tralee has a keen interest in music, drama and the arts and has partaken in many musicals and plays throughout her college years.

Traveling is another passion of Sinead’s. She was lucky enough to have spent time studying in an American University and she says this is when the ‘travelling itch’ started. Sinéad hopes to pursue further travel and adventure in the future.

With a keen interest in music, Siobhán has completed Diplomas in piano & music theatre performance with the London College of Music.  She is a member of  Síamsa Tíre-The National Folk Theatre of Ireland.

Siobhán’s other interests include taking part in local musical society shows, travelling & volunteering. She has worked as a Cara at Barretstown Camp in Kildare & has volunteered with Rainbows Ireland for many years.

The 21 year-old was born in the United Kingdom and moved to Ireland when she was 4 years old. She currently resides in listowel and is qualified in First Aid and CPR.

She used to volunteered at her local animal shelter Sera Husky and Animal rescue. In addition to this she is qualified to teach badminton and she enjoys walking, travelling, the cinema, and music. Her hope is that one day she will become a member of An Garda Síochána.
