The main event though, was the launch of Ardfert National School’s cookery book entitled ‘Ardfert School Loves To Cook’.
Chairperson of the Parents’ Association, Antonia Pierse, was the instigator of the publication and secured sponsorship from Flogas for the printing costs.
The book is filled with favourite recipes gathered from the children themselves. It will give hours of happiness as families try out each others’ recipes.
Minister Brendan Griffin arrived to launch the book and was warmly welcomed by Principal Mrs.Stack who thanked him for coming.
Antonia Pierse spoke and thanked all in the Parents’ Association for their fantastic support with the initiative and the children for their contributions.
She praised Flogas and thanked them for their very generous sponsorship. The Minister then officially launched the book and congratulated all involved, saying it was a very worthy undertaking.
He told the crowd that it was so important that children get enjoyment out of cooking at a young age. The book is available for purchase at Centra and Ardfert School. €7 / 2 for €12. Scroll down for photos…
