AROUND 80 or so Moyderwell Primary School pupils added another string to their bow when they performed at the school’s ‘Colour My Strings’ violin concert.
Moyderwell pupils from classes , 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th performed in front of a proud bunch of parents and teachers.
As part of the ‘Colour My Strings’ music initiative, around 60 schoolchildren were given a violin free for the year and taught the basics of the instrument. First class pupils got their first taste of being on stage playing the violin.
Tutelage is also provided free for the foundation year.
The children who continued on from the foundation year also performed. These violinists have gone on to play the instrument at a higher level thanks to the school which provides violin lessons at a supplemented rate for them. Scroll down for photos…
