Students at the Multicultural night at Mercy Mounthawk.

On Wednesday night, our Youth Social Innovators group URAC (Uniting Race and Culture) organised a multicultural night, held in our school Mercy Mounthawk to unite and celebrate the differences between people within our community.

Nothing like friendship, music, dancing, and food to gather us all together!

With everyone in our team making ethnic foods and hanging decorations around the hall, the room looked colourful and everyone enjoyed the food.

People were able to have a chat and mingle while being provided with all the food they could eat with an entry fee of only €2!

With Mexican, French, Spanish, Chinese, Pakistani, Nigerian, Italian, Estonian and Irish stands, there was a wide variety of foods to chose from!

There was entertainment from Seamus Harty who played the guitar and sang, Syrian dancing from Mohammed and Imad, Romanian music by Isaac and Ukrainian dancing from Liliia Kurochkina who were all very talented and we’d like to thank them for making time to show the community their skills.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who turned up last night and to all those who made donations, we are extremely grateful and we were delighted to share a bit of what we strive to do with our YSI group URAC, which is celebrating the diversity of cultures within our school and community, as we Unite Race and Culture here in Mercy Mounthawk.
