THE air was filled with music and the scent of barbecued food at Rehabcare in Blennerville on Wednesday afternoon as they held a Jumble Sale and Family Open Day.
Rising music star Seamus Harty was among those playing music while local community gardaí Aidan O’Mahony and Mary Gardiner popped in to support the event which raised funds for outings for the service users.
“We’re just opening up our centre here today to let people know what we doing here,” said Programmes Co-ordinator, Jane O’Donoghue.

“We’re primarily for people with intellectual disabilities, hearing impaired and we also have autistic clients. We run programmes for independent living skills to get them to integrate in the community. We’re also fundraising today for trips outside the centre,” she said.
“It’s great fun and a bit of craic, thank God for the fine weather! It’s about welcoming the community into us and we’ve received great support. The lads here would be known here in Blennerville from walking around and we just want to show people what we do here. We’re very proud of the centre and what we do here,” said Jane.
They certainly had a wonderful day for it and many people passed through the doors to see the great things going on in Rehabcare. Scroll down for photos…
