THERE was great excitement for many youngsters last week as they began their schooldays at Tralee primary schools.
“There was tears from one or two children but they all settled very quickly,” said Ms Mary Dillane, junior infants teacher at Listellick NS. “A lot of them would know each other from play school anyway so it makes the first day much easier,” said Mary.
Over at Blennerville NS it was the same.
“It was very busy but it was great,” said junior infants teacher, Edel O’Sullivan. “We had some crying children but ten past nine they had all settled down, there were a few tears from the parents as well!” said Edel.
Ms Marie Foley over in Presentation has over 25 in her class.
“We had no tears and they all enjoyed playing in the yard. There was no problems at all. I think the fact that they have been at play school has a big effect,” said Marie.
