THE new headquarters for Employability Service Kerry was officially opened yesterday by Minister Of State For Disability, Mr Finian McGrath.

Located in Rock Street (next to Horan’s Fruit and Veg), the service works with jobseekers who have a disability and want to find full-time or part-time employment. They also provide an employment service for the Travelling Community.

Last  year saw 40 people with a disability gain employment with the help of the service, while over 1,475 Kerry people have used the one to one service from the job coaches over the past 13 years, with many securing work.

They have seven job coaches covering the whole county supporting jobseekers, employees and employers.

Minister McGrath praised the work of the service and said more must be done to get a greater number of people with disabilities into employment. He said he was aiming to have 6% of the workforce consisting of people with a disability over the next three years.

The offices are open from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday and can be reached on 066-7118758. Scroll down for photos…
