TY students hosted language cafés on Tuesday for 2nd and 6th years. This event has really captured the imagination of all students the last few years as waitresses take orders from customers who have to select the delicious treats on the menus of the French and German cafés – the aroma of café au lait and baked goods wafted tantalisingly into the assembly area.

First years participated in French and German Bingo on Wednesday – hosted by The TYs.

Running in the background of all these activities was a range of displays of posters featuring vocabulary, information about French and German culture etc.  as well as  all 1st year French and German posters on display in the 1st year area.

“The emphasis on languages will undoubtedly change for all students as we continue to deal with the  era of uncertainty with “Brexit” on the horizon, so all activities which encourage our students to master the spoken languages will be of huge benefit to our students in the future”  said French teacher Ms. Wolff.
