ON Monday night at The Abbey Inn, the organisers of this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade in Tralee presented awards to the parade’s best participants.
Prizes were presented to three groups who were the Most Colourful, Most Entertaining and Most Topical in this year’s parade.
The Most Topical award went to the Darkness Into Light group. Tralee Parnells were deemed the Most Entertaining and the Bryan Carr School of Performing Arts won the prize for Most Colourful.

The organisers thanked everyone for turning up on the day, despite the weather, and gave a special award to Michael Gaffney – for playing music and keeping people entertained – and to Rick Leonard for his role as Grand Marshall for the parade.
John Drummey said; “On Behalf of Tralee Chamber Alliance, thank you everybody. Thank you especially to Rick Leonard, who came down with Terry O’Brien in the pouring rain on the day and it looked fantastic.
